What is Stump Grinding? When you remove a tree, there is stump left over. Stump grinding is the process of getting rid of the remainder of the tree to make it look like there was never a tree there. We do this by grinding the remainder of the stump and digging between 6-8 inches into the ground.
Do I have to Stump Grind? It is not vital to Stump Grind, it's completely up to you and your preference on aesthetics. Typically, in urban settings people will opt to Stump Grind to keep a clean look to their yard, however, most of our more rural clients don't always choose to stump grind.
Can I plant a tree where I once had a Stump? Unfortunately, it's not a good idea to plant a tree in the same spot you had your Stump Ground. This is due to the root system the previous tree left behind in the ground. If you were to try and plant a tree in that spot, it would have to grow through the roots that are already there, making it significantly less likely to survive, let alone thrive.
What can I expect from Stump Grinding? When you have a Stump Ground, you can expect it to appear as though there was never a tree in that spot as well as a sizable amount of mulch. We recommend the client keep the mulch and use it in their yard somehow.
